The TriMet Board of Directors has two new faces.
Rev. T. Allen Bethel, a senior pastor at Maranatha Church of God in northeast Portland and president of the Alibna Ministerial Alliance, has been appointed to a position representing northeast Portland.
Bethel has had previous experience with mass transit projects. While living in Boston, Bethel served as chair of a task force charged with managing the relocation of a light rail line, public meetings, and the design of new stations.
Hakeem Olanrewaju, a Happy Valley resident who works as the regional chief financial officer for Providence Health and Services, will represent Clackmas County on the board. He brings with him a background in finance, which includes work as the regional director of finance for Providence Health and Services in Washington and positions at Farmers Life Insurance Co., Federal Home Loan Bank and Cascade Natural Gas Corp.
