A week after former Police Chief Rosie Sizer held a press conference to raise concerns about proposed budget for her bureau, Mayor Sam Adams released a new set of figures for the police that are aimed at staving off service cuts.
Yesterday, Adams released a revised budget that is aimed at shoring up “critical public safety priorities while continuing needed investments in human services.”
The budget restores funding for 25 sworn officer positions, the Mounted Patrol Unit, the Cold Case Unit, and school resources for officer program.
The Mounted Patrol Unit was saved in part to a $100,000 private-sector donation.
