The Police Bureau has released a new nugget of information on the officer-involved shooting of Oits Keaton.
After interviewing more than 20 civilian witnesses and 12 officers who were directly or indirectly involved, detectives have concluded that Keaton opened fire on Officer Christopher Burley, who sustained an injury that he is currently recovering from.
A gun was recovered from the vehicle and has been sent to a lab for analysis.
A grand jury will begin proceedings on Friday.
Mayor Sam Adams has asked District Attorney Michael Schrunk to record the testimony given to the grand jury and release it to the public once it has concluded its work.
