Annual Used Book Sale to Benefit Libraries

The nonprofit Friends of the Multnomah County Library bring an estimated 100,000 items, including good quality books, CDs, DVDs, videos, audio books, sheet music and records for its annual used book sale Friday, Oct. 8 through Monday, Oct. 11 at 1205 N.E. 33rd Ave., at Sandy Boulevard.

Hours are 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday — members’ night; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday — half price day. Memberships are sold at the door Friday.  Most books are priced at $1.50. Children’s materials start at 50 cents.

Proceeds from the sale and other donations support library programs and campaigns to pass the five-year library levies that provide more than 50 percent of the library system’s operating funds.  For more information, see friends-library.org or call 503-224-9176.
