Artwork by the late community artist and muralist Charlotte Lewis are on display at the North Portland branch of the Multnomah County Library.
Exhibit opens at North Portland Library
Graphic designs by the late Charlotte Lewis, a community artist and muralist whose artistry graced the exteriors and interiors of many public buildings in Portland, will be on display during October at the North Portland branch of the Multnomah County Library at Northeast Killingsworth Street and Commercial Avenue.

Lewis’ murals include Children of Humanity in the North Precinct Community Policing Station at Northeast Martin Luther King Boulevard and Killingsworth Street; several works in McMenamins Kennedy School; and graphic designs in the lobby of the American Red Cross- Oregon Trail Chapter building on North Williams Avenue.
Charlotte’s work will also be included in the “Walls of Heritage, Walls of Pride: African American Murals” national touring exhibit opening at the Oregon Historical Society in November.
The North Portland Library’s exhibit can be seen during the following hours: Sundays, 1:30-3:30 p.m.; Tuesdays, noon – 4:30 p.m.; Wednesdays, noon – 7:30 p.m.; Fridays, noon – 5:30 p.m.; Saturdays, 1:30 – 5:30 p.m.



As niece and great admirer of aunt Charlotte. I take this moment to speak very highly of Charlotte Lewis. She was beautiful inside and out and expressed it through her natural talents. love you auntie gone but never forgotten.
