The last Friday of the month will be an evening celebrating our new Somali neighbors.
Colored Pencils Art and Culture night, also known as Portland’s multicultural family room, hosts monthly celebrations focusing on the city’s diverse populations to build a better community.
The upcoming event, March 25 at the Multnomah Arts Center, will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and feature Somali cuisine by Jaziira Cafe, a fine arts exhibit and reception, as well as traditional and contemporary African, Asian, Arab, Native and settled American performers and musical artists.
The cost is free to kids, students, and seniors, with a $10 suggested donation for others. The arts center is located at 7688 S.W Capitol Hwy.
