On Tuesday May 17, 2011, Portland Police Officers arrested a 53-year-old armed man after he fired shots in Southeast Portland in the parking lot of a bar.
Officers from the East Precinct responded to the report of shots fired in the area of 15920 Southeast Division Street, where they located Rudolph Joseph Goldbacher outside of Montego’s Bar around 12:30 a.m.
Armed with a handgun, he dropped the firearm before taken into custody by the officers. Police on the scene learned Goldbacher was in the area to purchase narcotics when he got into a dispute with some people, which resulted in him firing two shots at the other men.
Although nobody was injured or shot, one round impacted the side of an apartment in the Anderson Villa Apartments, and the other went through a fence and into the ground.
Those who were shot at fled the area and have not been located at this time.
Goldbacher is currently being held in Multnomah County Jail after being charged with Possession of Cocaine, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Loaded Firearm in the City, Discharge of a Firearm in the City, and Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree.
