Summer has arrived, and people throughout the community are getting ready to attend the upcoming Little League Baseball tournament hosted by Scappoose Little League.
Preliminary rounds for the 2011 Oregon District 1 Little League championship will begin on Saturday, July 2. Local teams represented in the tournament include Parkrose, Peninsula, Rose City, Lakeside, Hollywood, and Wilshire-Riverside. Each of the teams participating will play four games throughout the tournament, which will come to an end on Friday, July 7.
The first game will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday between Rose City and Clatskanie.
