In Loving Memory

Eva Chamberlain

Our beloved Aunt Eva Mae Chamberlain died peacefully in her sleep at home.  She was the third child of seven children born to Ralph and Susie Green, in Burleson County, Caldwell, Texas.  All have preceded her in death.

Eva was not afraid of work; however, she decided to better her living conditions by continuing her education.

She was an avid reader and was always solving Word Jumble, the scrambled word game, in the Oregonian newspaper.

Eva had no children, but they always gravitated toward her. She kept them engaged in playing ball and solving math problems.

She became a teacher at Catlin Gable School in 1957. There she challenged many students to reach for the stars. She was an amazing woman with many talents.

She leaves to cherish her memory: 15 nieces and nephews; and a host of great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

Donations can be made in memory of Eva Mae Chamberlain’s Reading Corner at Catlin Gable Lower School.  8825 S.W. Barnes Rd., Portland, OR 97225.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011 at Rose City Funeral Home.
