In Loving Memory: Cynthia Jean Robinson

Cynthia Jean Robinson was born in Louisiana to Essie B. Robinson on Sept. 25, 1955. She moved to Portland in the 1960s. She died on Aug. 20, 2011 at home with her family, watching her favorite TV show, Home Shopping Network.

Cynthia Jean Robinson had two children; son Lorell Robinson, and daughter Eylonda Robinson, and a host of grandchildren who brought joy to her life.

She enjoyed working and was employed for several years at OHSU Hospital until she was coming home from work in August 1997 and was struck by a stray bullet that had traveled three blocks. The injury paralyzed her from the ribcage down. Even though this unfortunate situation happened, she still had a good demeanor and pride. She was concerned about other people. She was a giving person.

She is survived by her son and daughter; her mother; brother Abram Givson; and sisters Betty Britt and Shirley Curry, sister-in-law Judy Robinson and a host of grandchildren, nephews, nieces and a special friend Steven Brent.

She was preceded in death by her niece Sheri Robinson, sister Lena Hill and brothers Larry Robinson and George Robinson.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, Aug.31,2011 from 4 p.m. to 7p.m. Arrangements under the direction of Terry Family Funeral Home.
