Shout Out to Clean Water Practices

In an effort to promote clean water practices throughout the area, Clark County is working with local school

The 4-inch, blue and gray, metal medallions, read: Protect Water, Only Rain In Drain in an effort educate residents that rain is the only thing that should go down the drains to prevent pollutants dumped or carried into swimming holes and drinking water and protect the county’s streams, lakes, rivers, wetlands and groundwater.

The instillation project was catalyzed by Storm Water Partners of Southwest Washington, which is comprised of Clark County and the cities of Battle Ground, Camas, La Center, Ridgefield, Vancouver and Washougal.

Although 280 medallions have already been installed at 28 schools, and 100 placed at Washington State University, Vancouver. Over the next several weeks new medallions will be installed at 16 schools in the Vancouver School District.
