Three seniors from St. Mary’s Academy have received college scholarships to play basketball at the university level next fall.
Zoie Sheng and Sha’Nice Storey have signed on to play for the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. The two girls met playing basketball at the Salvation Army in the fourth grade,
Taelor Ross, who played her freshman and sophomore years at Jefferson High School before joining St. Mary’s last year, has committed her skills to Seattle University.
All three players participated in the Portland Observer Joyce Washington All-Star Memorial Game last summer after a successful year in which St. Mary’s won their first Mt. Hood Conference title.
The trio hopes to lead their team to the 2012 State Championships this year.
