Season Ending Injury

Trail Blazers guard Wesley Matthews ruptured his left Achilles tendon in Portland's game against Dallas on Thursday night and will miss the remainder of the season pending surgery and the recovery from the injury, officials said.
Matthews was running with the ball when he fell to the court two minutes into the third quarter and was helped off the floor. An MRI confirmed the injury.
Matthews was third on the team with an average of 15.9 points per game, along with 3.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists for the Blazers this season. He started all 60 games.
His teammates lamented the loss of the player fans call "Iron Man" for his toughness.
The injury comes as the Blazers (41-20) fight for playoff position in the Western Conference with 19 games to go in the regular season
