A unique clergy breakfast program for congregations of all faiths to learn about and support breast health awareness is being held Thursday, June 28 at 8:30 a.m. at the Legacy Emanuel Lorenzen Conference Center in north Portland.

“Worship in Pink” for breast cancer awareness started in 2011 in conjunction with the Susan G. Komen Foundation of Oregon and southwest Washington, a local breast cancer support and prevention organization.

The annual event aims to provide messages of hope, inspiration, and education about breast health to increase the number of women receiving mammograms. The organization trains local church volunteers as they host activities in their congregations to promote the importance of screening early for the detection of breast cancer.

If your church is interested in participating, your pastor and a guest are invited to attend this year’s event. RSVP to Kathy Kendrix at worshipinpink@komenoregon.org or call 503-735-1475.
