REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
METRO PARKS AND NATURE
The Parks and Nature Department of Metro, a metropolitan service district organized under the laws of the State of Oregon and the Metro Charter, located at 600 NE Grand Avenue, Portland, OR 97232-2736, is hereby requesting sealed bids for Arborist Services.
Sealed proposals are due no later than 2:00 p.m., August 20, 2020, electronically via BidLocker website, link found in solicitation document.
A voluntary pre-proposal conference for all potential prime contractors is scheduled on August 6, 2020, at 11:00 am. in an online Zoom meeting, link to meeting found in solicitation document. Interested sub-contractors are also invited.
The Metro Council's voter-approved 1995 Open Space, 2006 Natural Areas Program and 2019 Parks & Nature bond has and will fund land acquisition and capital improvements that protect water quality and fish and wildlife habitat, enhance trails and wildlife corridors and provide greater connections to nature in neighborhoods throughout the Portland metropolitan area. Metro now seeks Arborist Services for tree care in parks and natural areas in Clackamas, Washington and Multnomah counties. Services may be needed in popular public parks, with buildings, people and other targets. Often adjacent to busy roads and highways, as well as in remote natural areas where hiking equipment into a project area may be necessary, and anywhere in between.
Metro intends to award this to multiple firms to provide the services required. The term of the contract is anticipated to be September 2020 through September 2025.
Solicitation documents can be viewed and downloaded from the Oregon Procurement Information Network (ORPIN) at http://orpin.oregon.gov/open.dll/.
Metro may accept or reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, or waive irregularities not affecting substantial rights if such action is deemed in the public interest.
