The Santiam Correctional Institution near Salem is run by the Oregon Department of Corrections. A lawsuit filed Monday by a group of inmates alleges the state hasn’t taken the necessary steps to slow the spread of the coronavirus inside all of the state’s prisons. It comes after three inmates and five staff members at the Santiam prison tested positive for the virus.
