Portland commemorated the 50 year anniversary of the March on Washington Saturday, bringing upwards of 1,000 people to a downtown march and rally. The racial makeup of the participating people and organizations were varied, but it was clear early on that many of the issues of the day were closely parallel to the fight for jobs and freedom that civil rights leaders fought for 50 years ago.
