Frederick O’Neil Arnold (Byrd)
Frederick O’Neil Arnold, best known as Byrd, passed from this life on Jan. 19, 2022. He was born Aug. 19, 1959 in Mexia, Texas to Lucy Arnold. She preceded him in death. He leaves behind siblings Joyce and Jack Smith of Vancouver, James Arnold of Vancouver, Yvonne Sloan of Dallas, Texas, Donald Arnold of Portland, Kenneth Arnold of Mexia, Jacqueline Arnold of Dallas and Preston Arnold also of Texas; three children, daughters Lashunda Driver and Nashequa Adkison of Coolidge, Texas and son, Trevor Smith of Portland. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren ,a host of nieces and nephews, and other close family and friends. We will miss his BBQs, fish fry’s and many domino games. He loved to fish, play basketball in his younger adult days, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Byrd worked in healthcare for many years. The Arnold family gives much thanks to the Portland Observer and much love to the Washington family.
