Lou Allen is a 76-year-old multi-talented entertainer.
Lou Allen is a 76-year-old multi-talented entertainer with a passion for music, comedy, and ventriloquism. Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Lou has been entertaining audiences with his unique and hilarious comedy routines for over half a century. Lou's love for music began at a young age when he sang along with records from his favorite recording artists, including Nat King Cole, Sam Cook, and Jackie Wilson. Over the years, he has honed his skills as a singer, ventriloquist, and comedian.
Lou’s comedy career began in the early 1980s and he has performed primarily on the West Coast, including San Francisco’s Punch Line and LA’s Comedy Store, where he has received rousing applause. Inspired by Hoody Doody and Edgar Bergman, as a child Lou practiced the art of ventriloquism by talking without moving his mouth. He decided to professionally pursue that ambition after watching Jeff Durham perform.
In his later years, he developed the skill of songwriting. His recent release, "On The Go Man," is an upbeat blend of country-blues music, and serves as a testament to his unwavering dedication to expand his craft. It also serves as a reminder to all of us that, even in later life, it is not too late to successfully pursue one’s passion.Whether it's a song, comedy, or ventriloquism, you are sure to enjoy a performance by this delightful, multi-talented artist. He recently performed at the Women Songwriters Hall Of Fame this past June in DC and shared the stage with music legends including Dorothy Norwood, Sherrie Payne and Melissa Etheridge and received compliments on his performance. He has been asked to return next year.
