Long time Portland educator hired
Rosemarie El Youseff
St. Andrew Nativity School, a diverse private middle school for low income students located just off Northeast Ninth Avenue and Alberta Street, is introducing its new principal to the community after her recent hiring.
Rosemarie El Youssef has enjoyed a long career as an educator beginning as an English teacher at Wilson High School in 2001. She later taught language arts, leadership, and AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) at H. B. Lee Middle School in the Reynolds School District. She currently is the principal at St. Therese Catholic Elementary School in northeast Portland where her three sons have attended over the years.
In prepared remarks to the school community, El Youssef said she was honored to serve as the next principal of St. Andrew Nativity School.
“I look forward to working alongside the staff and families to further the school’s mission.
From the moment I walked into the building, I felt welcome and very much at home. Thank you for the opportunity!”
